Mrowicki hosts 'Zoom Room' for constituents
PUTNEY - State Rep. Mike Mrowicki, D-Putney, will host a Constituent Zoom Room on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 7 to 8 p.m.
"The 2025 Legislative session is heading towards its halfway mark and the work is starting to take form even as the politics is heating up," said Mrowicki in a news release. "Should we feed our children at school? What does quality education at a cost we can afford look like? Do we follow the Trump regime's Climate Denial policies? How do we pay for maintaining our roads and bridges if the gas tax isn't providing enough funding?
What about housing and public safety? And, how do we deal with the damage an unelected wrecking ball in Washington, D.C., is inflicting on the people of the United States?"
If you have questions or ideas, Mrowicki is opening up the Constituent Zoom Room for folks in the Windham-4 district towns of Putney and Dummerston. For login information, email [email protected].

Green Mountain Gardeners say 'I Love Dahlias!'
LONDONDERRY - The Green Mountain Gardeners announce their March program, "I Love Dahlias," presented by Michele Dauphinais of the Rutland Garden Club. Open to the public, this lively and informative hour-long talk will be held on Monday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at the Londonderry Rescue Squad building, 6068 VT 100, and will be followed by a light lunch.
With thousands of varieties, dahlias are popular garden flowers that provide both brilliant color to the garden landscape and long-lived cut flowers for the summer table.
Due to freezing winter temperatures in Vermont, dahlia tubers must be dug up and replanted each year, but the labor of cultivating them is rewarded by spectacular blooms in a variety of sizes - from "dinner plate" dahlias to mini pompoms - and in many colors, from deepest reds through the spectrum to pure as well as variegated whites.
Dauphinais will talk about how to plant tubers in the ground or in pots, nurture them through the growing season, and store them over the cold months.
The Green Mountain Gardeners fosters horticulture, beautification and conservation in the mountain towns of Landgrove, Londonderry, Peru, and Weston. In addition, the group also serves their communities through beautification and service projects. Visit greenmountaingardeners.net to learn more or to join the organization.
The program is free but registration is required at [email protected].
