Girl Scouts in Vermont and New Hampshire have already kicked off the 2025 cookie season, a time when scouts "hone their entrepreneurial skills as they find new and inventive ways to sell cookies, unboxing brighter futures for themselves," according to a news release from Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains.
Scouts who sell cookies acquire "a host of invaluable entrepreneurial skills, including goal setting, money management, decision-making, people skills, and business ethics," and "obtain transferable life skills as they earn a variety of badges and awards, including Cookie Business badges, Financial Literacy badges, Cookie Entrepreneur Family pins and Entrepreneur badges," according to leaders.
The 2025 cookie lineup includes favorites such as Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs, but the Girl Scout S'mores cookie flavor will be retired after this season.
All proceeds from cookie sales stay with local troops to fuel inspiring experiences throughout the year including camp, amazing trips, service projects, and much more.
Cookies will be delivered to customers once troops receive their inventory in mid-February. Girl Scouts will continue to sell cookies online and in person through March 16.
According to the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains website, there are four local Girl Scout troops, meeting in Brattleboro, Townshend, Vernon, Vermont and Chesterfield, New Hampshire.
Those who know a local girl scout may order directly from them. Any one who does not know a girl scout can order after Sunday, Feb. 9, by using the Cookie Finder at bit.ly/748-cookie. This option may add new booths over time, so if there's no cookie booth available currently, check back later in the season.
