GUILFORD-On Friday, June 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., Guilford Free Library hosts its annual summer concert at the Guilford Fairgrounds to celebrate and fundraise for the Library's Summer Camp.
The Rear Defrosters will play in the Cattle Barn at 163 Fairground Rd. This will be the event's third year featuring the honky tonk, country, soul, and rock 'n' roll band, whose players come from Vermont, New Hampshire, and Western Massachusetts. Concert-goers should bring their own picnic dinner if they wish.
This annual raffle helps fund the Library's summer camps, which offer three weeks of free summer programming for Guilford kids who've completed kindergarten or any grade up through eighth. During the summer of 2024, the camps include K–3, Sound & Stream, and Stage & Stream - scheduled during the months of July and August. Learn more and sign up at guilfordfreelibraryvt.org/summercamp.
Also, $10 raffle tickets will be sold at the event or can be purchased in advance at guilfordfreelibraryvt.org, in person at the library at 4024 Guilford Center Rd., by calling 802-257-4603, or by contacting a Trustee or Friend of the Library.
During the concert, a random number generator will be used to draw three winners who will receive two $50 gift certificates per prize from local businesses. Winners do not need to be present, as absent winners will be contacted by a member of the Friends of the Library after the event.
