DOVER — The West Dover Congregational Church and Wilmington Congregational Church will hold a service of Installation for the Rev. Emily C. Heath on Sept. 26.
The service will be held at West Dover Congregational Church at 2:30 p.m. The Ecclesiastical Council for Rev. Heath will be at 2 p.m. A reception will follow.
Representatives of the Vermont Conference of the United Church of Christ and the Windham-Union Association of the Vermont Conference will be on hand for the service. The Rev. Lynn Bujnak, Conference Minister for Vermont, will preach the Installation sermon.
The Rev. Heath began her ministry at both local churches this past May. This service will formally establish her as the minister of both churches, and will signify her the recognition of her standing as such by the Windham-Union Association and the Vermont Conference.
The Rev. Heath is a native of Virginia and was educated at Emory University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts, and Columbia Theological Seminary, where she received Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees. She is currently a student in the Doctor of Ministry program at Andover Newton Theological School in Massachusetts.
Before coming to Vermont, Heath served as a hospital and hospice chaplain in Georgia, Tennessee and Massachusetts. Immediately before coming to the area, she lived in Provincetown, Mass.
In addition to serving as the pastor of these two congregations, Rev. Heath is the Spiritual Life Advisor at Marlboro College, a member of the Brattleboro Area Interfaith Clergy Association, and active in other religious and community organizations.
All members of the community are invited, and encouraged, to attend.
