PUTNEY — Landmark College tied for the top rating in two regional categories of the U.S. News & World Report 2022 Best Colleges rankings.
The college shares the top honors in Best Undergraduate Teaching - North Region with Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire and in Most Innovative Colleges - North Region with Cooper Union in New York City.
This is the third straight year that the Putney-based institution that exclusively enrolls students with learning differences (including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and executive function challenges) has appeared in these categories, either alone or sharing the honors.
President Peter Eden credits the entire Landmark College community for the achievement.
Ratings in both categories are based on surveys sent to presidents, provosts, admissions deans, and other top officials at peer institutions, according to news website and former newsmagazine U.S. News & World Report, which has published the rankings since 1983.
Its methodology describes nominations for Best Undergraduate Teaching as based in part on the belief that “faculty and administrators were committed to teaching undergraduate students in a high-quality manner;” while Most Innovative nominations identify schools that are “making the most innovative improvements toward curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology and facilities.”
