Sarasa Ensemble presents ‘Night at the Opera’ at BMC on March 7

BRATTLEBORO-Sarasa Ensemble performs music of Mozart for the program titled "Night at the Opera" at the Brattleboro Music Center (BMC) on Friday, March 7, at 7 p.m.

"Mozart's ability to explore the human condition is apparent in his string quartets as well as his operas," wrote event promoters in a news release. This program features not only Mozart works, but compositions by two contemporaries who also introduced dramatic personae in their instrumental music, Hyacinthe Jadin and Carlo Monza.

The concert features Julia Glenn and Susanna Ogata, violins; Anna Griffis, viola; and Jennifer Morsches, cello; and will include Monza's rarely performed "The Rival Lovers."

The Sarasa Ensemble is a collective of extraordinary international instrumentalists and vocalists who perform classical music of outstanding quality, spanning the 17th to the 21st centuries, on both period and modern instruments, bringing this music to diverse communities.

Tickets are $20 for advance general admission, $25 at the door, and are available at bmcvt.org, 802-257-4523, and [email protected].
