BELLOWS FALLS — Canal Street Art Gallery's “A Moment in Frame - Photography” show is on view to the public through April 6. All are invited to attend the artist reception at the gallery on 23 Canal St., from 5 to 8 p.m., on the BF 3rd Friday Gallery Night on March 15.
For this show, 1 percent of profits will be given to a fund for the maintenance of existing public art in the town of Rockingham through a special Public Art Maintenance Fund created by Canal Street Art Gallery and Rockingham Art and Museum Project.
Take part in celebrating with the artists by sharing their process with photographs. Listen to “X 1” a live acoustic bass and sax jazz duo, and enjoy good conversation and plenty of refreshments.
For this, the gallery's first photography exhibition, visitors will have a chance to learn about how photographers Merek Jagoda and Ea Maples collaborate to create unique photographs set in abandoned and monumental New England and New York architecture.
This exhibition also includes photographs from students at Vermont Academy in Saxtons River and members of the Brattleboro Camera Club. The works by the gallery's represented artists - Spaulding Dunbar, Karl Jacobson, and Jeffrey Spring - are hung alongside Kathy Carr, Marek Jagoda, Don Kalfus, Ea Maples, and Linda Carlsen Sperry to make up this group showing.
The gallery, which is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., represents 22 local artists and there are over 450 individual pieces of artwork on their website.
