Selectboard unanimously adopts Town Plan
BRATTLEBORO — BRATTLEBORO - After a second public hearing at the May 15 regular Selectboard meeting, the Board unanimously voted to adopt the 2018 Town Plan.
Board Chair Kate O'Connor noted two public hearings are required, and the first one happened at the May 1 Selectboard meeting.
Planning Director Rod Francis, Planner Sue Fillion, and Elizabeth McLoughlin and Josh Steele from the Planning Commission attended the Board meeting to answer questions, but other than a few comments, there were none.
Selectboard member Brandie Starr reminded the public that the Town Plan is “a living document,” and not to panic if something important appears to be missing. She noted “a lot of work happens closer to the ground."
In response to Board member David Schoales' comment about the number of printed copies of the document, Fillion assured him the Planning Department made more copies available on thumb drives and on the town's website.
In her closing remarks, O'Connor thanked everyone on the Planning Commission for their work on the Town Plan. “It's a huge task,” she said.
