SOUTH NEWFANE — The Rock River Players present Love Me! a Valentine's Cabaret, Friday, Feb. 9, and Saturday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m., at the South Newfane Schoolhouse, at the intersection of Dover and Auger Hole roads.
Director Annie Landenberger notes that “the cabaret, with deep roots in France and Germany in the early 20th century, has historically been a trend-setting form of entertainment featuring a variety of performance styles for an audience that's typically enjoying from small café tables, which we'll have.”
She adds: “Cabarets are typically adult-focused with a heavy dose of subversion. The cabaret has been a hotbed of creative energy for decades. With a collection of scenes, songs, satire, and surprises - and in keeping with the mission of the cabaret - the evening promises to be as full of laughs as it is of edgy provocation and sweet sounds.”
The Players' second annual cabaret features Rock River Players known to area audiences from past RRP productions, including Sara Vitale, Stewart McDermet, Bill Lincoln, Annie Landenberger, T. Breeze Verdant, and David Roberts.
Also featured are several newcomers: Vicky Santiestaban, Mike and Miriam Kelly, Don Tretler, Alina Abraham, Kane Vitale, Louie Vitale, and Louie Vitale, Jr.
