BRATTLEBORO — Popular screenings of Met Opera Live in HD, National Theatre Live, Bolshoi Ballet Only in Cinemas, and Exhibition on Screen bring some of the world's greatest music, theater, dance, and art to the Latchis Theatre.
Latchis Arts announces the slate of Metropolitan opera, National Theatre, Bolshoi Ballet, and Exhibition on Screen simulcast offerings for the 2017-18 season.
The ever-popular season of Metropolitan Opera Live in HD presentations opens on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m., with the series' first-ever broadcast of Bellini's “Norma,” starring Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role. The series continues one week later with Mozart's “Die Zauberflöte,” conducted by James Levine.
Other series offerings include the Met premiere of Thomas Adès's “The Exterminating Angel” (Nov. 18), a new staging of Puccini's “Tosca” on Jan. 27, Donizetti's “L'Elisir d'Amore” on Feb. 10, Puccini's “La Boheme” on Feb. 24, Rossini's “Semiramide” on March 10, Mozart's “Così Fan Tutte” set in 1950s Coney Island on March 31, Verdi's tragic “Luisa Miller” on April 14, and Massenet's “Cendrillon” on April 28.
All Met Live in HD productions are simulcast live direct from the Metropolitan Opera. Tickets are $22, $10 for students, and $20 for Met Club Forever Members. Met Club Membership is a one-time fee of $50 and entitles the member to a lifetime discount on Met Live in HD tickets at the Latchis Theatre.

Simulcasts of the National Theatre Live in HD, which started Sept. 10 with “Salome,” continue with “Yerma” on Sept, 23, at 4 p.m., “Young Marx” on Feb. 4, at 2 p.m., and Shakespeare's “Julius Caesar” on April 22. More National Theatre titles are likely to be added.
The season of presentations of The Bolshoi Ballet Only in Cinemas opens with “Le Corsaire” on Nov. 19, “The Nutcracker” on Dec. 17, “Taming of the Shrew” on Jan. 14, “Romeo and Juliet” on Feb. 18, “Lady of the Camellias” on March 11, “Flames of Paris” on April 15, “Giselle” on May 6, and “Coppelia” on July 6.
All Bolshoi Ballet Only in Cinemas offerings take place at the Latchis at 4 p.m., except for “The Nutcracker,” which will be presented at 2 p.m.

Returning for the second year, Latchis Arts presents Exhibition on Screen, compelling documentaries about great art exhibitions from around the world. These presentations open with “Canaletto and the Art of Venice,” which will be shown on Nov. 25-26 and Dec. 2-3.
The focus will be on the art of David Hockney on Jan. 27-28. “Cezanne, Portraits of Life” will be presented March 24-25 and April 21-22, followed by two encore presentations. “Van Gogh: A New Way of Seeing” will be presented on May 26-27, and “I, Claude Monet” will be shown on June 23-24.
All Exhibition on Screen presentations will be shown at 4 p.m., at the Latchis. Tickets are $12, $6 for students, and are available at the door or in advance by contacting Manning.
