WESTMINSTER WEST — On Saturday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Westminster West Schoolhouse and Library will hold their plant sale. This local nonprofit horticultural event, which supports the many opportunities offered to children though the village school and library, offers a wide selection of traditional and exotic perennials, annuals, herbs, trees, and flowering shrubs.
This year's focus is the construction of a 16-by-16 open pavilion to promote nature-based learning.
In addition to the plant and bake sale, with its renowned “hot maple chai,” there will also be tickets available for a raffle offering 20 prizes ranging from garden design consultations and massages to gift certificates from local vendors and eateries.
Those interested in supporting the benefit may drop potted and labeled plants on the left side of the porch of the Westminster West School any time during the week leading up to the sale. Baked goods can be delivered on the morning of the event, after 8 a.m.
For additional information, please contact the Westminster West Library at 802-387-4682. In the case of heavy rain, the sale will take place on Sunday at the same time.
Stop by to explore all the offerings, or to discuss the exciting new “immersion program” promoting alternative learning for Westminster's children, which will be available to all grades and centered in the “two-room” schoolhouse.
