BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Music School's Annual Spring Showcase, one of its major fundraisers of the year, is set for Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the River Garden on Main Street.
The Spring Showcase includes student performances and a bake sale, plant sale, 50/50 raffle, and CD/DVD sale.
As the Music School's annual “thank you” to the greater Brattleboro community, admission is free, but this fundraiser also provides support for the school's scholarship fund and donations are welcome. Each year, the Music School provides over $25,000 in need-based scholarships to more than 50 families and a significant portion of that money is raised at this annual event, according to a news release.
Students at all levels will perform at the event. The showcase provides them with an opportunity to share their talent not only with family and friends, but with supporters in the Brattleboro area who help make Music School programs possible.
Music School supporters are urged to purchase tickets for the 50/50 raffle ($1 each or 6 for $5). Tickets can be purchased at the Brattleboro Music Center (BMC), 38 Walnut St., or at the Showcase. Half of the total raised in ticket sales will go directly to the Music School Scholarship fund.
Donated plants for the plant sale - perennials, annuals, and houseplants - are needed, as are CDs or DVDs. Items can be dropped at the BMC or can be brought to the event May 21.
