Savings Bank of Walpole hires Brattleboro resident as Commercial Loan Officer

KEENE, N.H. - Savings Bank of Walpole has hired Stephanie Huestis as its Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer, according to a news release.

Huestis, who lives in Brattleboro, brings over 20 years of experience within the finance industry to her new position and has a broad understanding of relationship management, commercial lending, sales, and new-business development.

Previously, she held a number of positions at Peoples United Bank in Brattleboro, most recently as Senior Vice President, Relationship Manager, where she serviced several towns within Southern Vermont and established a track record of successful new-business development and portfolio management. Prior to Peoples United Bank, she was a Mortgage Lender and Originator at Brattleboro Savings & Loan.

Huestis is actively involved in the Brattleboro community and is currently a board member of the United Way, Windham County. She was formerly President of the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Reiki class offered in Brattleboro

BRATTLEBORO - A Reiki I certification class will be offered Saturday, May 14, at Brattleboro Holistic Health Center, 62 Elliot St., from 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The day will include teaching and practice time, the Reiki I attunement, and time for questions and discussion.

According to a news release, Lauren Potter, adjunct faculty at River Valley Community College in Claremont, NH, and Usui-Holy Fire II Reiki Master Teacher/Practitioner, will be the presenter. She maintains an active healing and instruction practice in southeastern and central Vermont and western New Hampshire areas.

Included is a 150-page Reiki I and II Manual, plus one other book you may choose in class, a folder of handouts, and your Reiki I certificate.

Zero Energy Now informational session

BRATTLEBORO - On Monday, May 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Marlboro College Graduate School, 28 Vernon Street, Bob Walker of the Sustainable Energy Resource Group (SERG) will give an overview of Zero Energy Now and answer questions. According to a news release, attendees can learn how to cut energy costs in their homes or business by 50 to 100 percent, while taking advantage of up to $7,500 in incentives.

Zero Energy Now is a new, comprehensive energy-improvement program, providing efficiency upgrades to buildings along with renewable heating, such as heat pumps and biomass, and solar photovoltaics.

According to the release, users can move their home or business toward using zero energy at little or no monthly cost, with energy savings paying for financing.

“By doing so, comfort is increased, while carbon emissions and energy costs are cut,” the release says.

As an added bonus, up to $7,500 in incentives are available to program participants located in the service territory of the former Central Vermont Public Service.

Local weatherization and solar contractors affiliated with the program will be on hand with informational displays. Light refreshments will be served.

The session is sponsored by Brattleboro Climate Protection, the Brattleboro Energy Committee, Sustainable Energy Outreach Network, and the Marlboro College Graduate School. Zero Energy Now is a program of the Building Performance Professionals Association of Vermont, in collaboration with Green Mountain Power.
