Future Collective hosts Future Fest Four in Brattleboro

BRATTLEBORO — The Future Collective will host the fourth annual Future Fest on Sept. 3 to 6 in Brattleboro.

Future Fest is a four-day music and arts festival drawing over 50 bands and performance artists from all over New England, such as Crank Sturgeon, Mal Devisa, Home Body, Zebu, and Guerilla Toss.

Many local Brattleboro acts will also be performing, such as If Not I Than Who Then, MV EE, Barishi, badweatherfriend, Aura Shards, and Ruth Garbus.

Thursday night will start the fest off with a night of experimental music, followed by performances Friday and Saturday night at The Stone Church (210 Main St.).

There will also be a new games field day during the day on Saturday, and on Sunday, The Future Collective will host an outdoor potluck and carnival with a variety of games, skill shares, and acoustic musical performances. Future Fest will conclude with a night of musical performances at Headroom Stages (17 Elliot, 3rd Floor) in Brattleboro.

The Future Collective is a group from and for a diverse Brattleboro community working to provide fun, accessible, inclusive, anti-oppressive, community minded spaces and events that foster creative, political, and personal expression. It has been organizing arts and music events in Brattleboro since 2012 and ran a community arts space at 17 Elliot Street in Brattleboro from January 2014 to May 2015.

Future Fest Four is a fundraiser for a new ongoing Future Collective space in Brattleboro.
