Brattleboro Women’s Chorus begins Spring Session with an open sing

BRATTLEBORO — The spring session of the Brattleboro Women's Chorus begins with an open sing March 6 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at All Souls Church, and is an excellent opportunity to join or to try out the chorus without obligation.

All women - and girls aged 10 and up with their mothers or other adult female companions - are invited.

The chorus then meets every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at All Souls Church, 29 South St. The musical themes are pilgrimage, continuing from the fall session, and songs of springtime.

The session culminates in two concerts on Mothers' Day weekend accompanied by the local group Kestrel, with one concert in Grafton and one in Brattleboro.

There are no auditions. Music can be learned without knowing how to read sheet music. Financial aid is available, as are price breaks for mothers and daughters (or other family combinations), and for students aged 15-25.

The chorus operates in two semesters: one from September to mid-November, and the second from early March to mid-May. The chorus performs very occasionally for special events in the Brattleboro area, and offers occasional outreach events to the greater Brattleboro community.
