BELLOWS FALLS — The Bellows Falls Downtown Development Alliance (BFDDA) will again present its Shop Local Holiday Program, which began on Nov. 18 and runs through Dec. 29.
Pick up your Shop Local Card and start shopping in Bellows Falls for all of your holiday gifts.
An even greater number of local businesses are participating this year and will be “stamping” off dollar amounts ($5, $10, $20) on each shopper's Shop Local Card throughout the season. Once this card is filled, the shopper is eligible to enter a drawing to receive numerous prizes provided by participating businesses.
Last year, more than 450 Shop Local Cards were completed and entered in the raffle drawings, which reflects at least $100,700 spent in downtown Bellows Falls.
“ The importance of spending your money locally will have a greater impact this year on our state and local economies than ever before,” organizers write.
You can find Shop Local Cards at participating local businesses, banks, the Bellows Falls Opera House, and your mailbox if you live in Bellows Falls.
A complete listing of this year's participating businesses and sponsors and a map are available online. Fill out your card by shopping at local businesses and drop it off at a participating business or designated drop-off stations throughout town.
The completed cards will be collected throughout the holiday season and the prize drawings will take place on Dec. 31 at the Village Square Booksellers at 3 p.m. More than 50 prizes will be offered this year.
