BELLOWS FALLS — The Great Falls Great Food Community Conversation will host a community supper and its inaugural conversation about food on Friday, July 8, at Our Place Drop In Center, 4 Island St.
The supper will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. There will be food for everyone. Feel free, however, to bring a favorite dish or recipe to share.
The conversation will then be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m., and will feature stories and anecdotes from all who care to share about their fond memories back in the day around favorite meals, foods, etc., as well as their current thoughts and experiences.
People will also be informed about the GFGFCC and what it hopes to do, with space and time for people to suggest how they might become involved in efforts to feed ourselves and keep food affordable in our community.
The evening will conclude with a tour of Our Place's garden.
The GFGFCC is a collaborative endeavor of Post Oil Solutions, Great Falls Food Hub, and Our Place Drop In Center.
Its purpose is to address this question: “How are the people of the Great Falls region (Bellows Falls, Rockingham, Westminister, Saxtons River and Walpole) going to feed themselves a healthy, nutritious, affordable, locally-grown diet in the years ahead?”
The GFGFCC is part of a regional effort to develop a sustainable, community-based food system.
