Good day to all in the windy hamlets of southeastern Vermont!
After a good drink of rain over the past couple days, we have entered back into a fair weather regime. Drought conditions continue, but at least we received a substantial rainfall to help the cause. We do have at least a temporary pattern shift upcoming this weekend and into the middle of next week, but it won't be accompanied by much in the way of wet weather.
For Wednesday, we will have plenty of sunshine with lowering humidity, which will result in more comfortable days when compared with the tropical soup we just endured. Highs should reach into the upper 70s, and lows either side of 50 degrees. Patchy fog is possible late.
For Thursday, a cold front will begin to drop south towards the Canada/Vermont border, but we should still enjoy a sunny and warm day, with highs near 80 and lows in the 50s. Again, patchy fog is possible late.
For Friday, we will see an increase in clouds as the front approaches, and scattered showers are expected in the afternoon and evening but shouldn't amount to too much. Highs again will be in the upper 70s, with lows in the 50s. Showers could continue into the night as well before the front fully passes to our south.
During the weekend, high pressure will build into the region, and a fresh new air mass will spill into southern Vermont with its origins in Hudson Bay, Canada.
On Saturday, highs will reach only into the mid 60s, with lows in the 40s. On Sunday, some locations won't even reach the 60 degree mark, and some frost potential exists for some areas by Monday morning. As of this writing, it appears lows could dip into the mid to upper 30s in the coldest spots.
Fair, autumnal weather will continue into early next week, with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Plenty of sunshine will be the rule.
In closing, it appears we will be getting more cool air invasions deeper into October. Should that transpire, it could set up a proper temperature gradient along the East Coast that may just kick up some more storm activity, and increase our rain chances. Here's hoping.
Have a great week!
