We need a sustained, unrelenting commitment to resist

GUILFORD-Some may say that the Trump presidency is threatening our democracy. In fact, we are no longer living in a democracy. This is not a political view, it is based on the actions of the Trump regime.

If we no longer have a democracy and are moving into totalitarianism, what are our options?

It appears there are only two: totalitarianism and fascism, or popular resistance of such a magnitude that the tables are overturned and Trump and his thugs are expeditiously removed from power.

We don't have much time before their seized power is solidified. And recent abductions and the dismantling of essential agencies are already taking a huge toll.

The April 5 demonstrations saw a monumental turnout nationwide, but the effort to remove the tyrants from power will, unfortunately, require a sustained, unrelenting commitment to resist.

Knowing what is at stake will make any such efforts well worth the personal sacrifice.
