Community Asylum Seekers Project hosts Arts Marathon fundraiser

BRATTLEBORO - In May, the Community Asylum Seekers Project (CASP) will hold an Arts Marathon as a fundraiser, and they are looking for artists to participate. Artists will commit to making art (or writing, sewing, taking photos, etc.) throughout the month of May. Five days a week, artists send out what they've worked on to friends, family, and followers who have signed up to sponsor them by making a donation to CASP.

"Everyone wins!" said organizers in a news release. "Artists hone their skills as they commit to producing work five days a week for a month. Sponsors provide an audience for the work and enjoy receiving it daily. Asylum seekers in southern Vermont receive legal support, as well as housing and living expenses, until they receive work permits and are able to be independent."

To be an artist participant, contact Francie Marbury at [email protected]. To learn more about CASP, the Arts Marathon, and how to get involved, visit caspvt.org.
