Kindergarten Information Night rescheduled to March 6

BRATTLEBORO - The Brattleboro town Kindergarten Information Night, which was postponed due to inclement weather on Feb. 6, has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Green Street School. Pizza and child care available.

Spaghetti dinner supports BSA Troop 428

NEWFANE - Boy Scouts of America Troop 428 will be holding an eat-in/take-out spaghetti dinner on Friday, Feb. 14, at the NewBrook Firehouse from 5 to 8 p.m. Each dinner will be $10 and will include: pasta, sauce, meatballs, bread, and choice of dessert.

To pre-order, complete the form at bit.ly/802-BSA and they will have your food waiting for you at the time you designate. All proceeds will go toward helping to fund Troop 428's planned trip to Oregon in August.

Buddhists for Peace hold listening session at Brooks Library

BRATTLEBORO - On Saturday, Feb. 15, from 3 to 5 p.m., Buddhists for Peace will offer compassionate listening to community members troubled by what is happening globally, locally, or personally.

Learn about Halifax senior services on Soup Saturday

HALIFAX - Come to the Halifax Café on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Community Hall at 20 Brook Rd. in West Halifax, to learn about the new Halifax Senior Services Directory. The café opens at 10 a.m., the talk and discussion is at 11 a.m, and lunch runs until 1 p.m.

Following last year's Listening Session on Aging, a directory of services for seniors living in Halifax was put together. Hard copies are available at the café or, to view online, visit czresearch.com/directory.

Lunch will feature six kinds of soup, plus bread, baked goods, and beverages for a suggested donation. Come learn, enjoy lunch, and help keep the lights on at the community café. WiFi is available on site.

Legislators host community conversation

BELLOWS FALLS - On Saturday, Feb. 15, at 10:30 a.m., constituents can meet with their Windham-3 (Brookline, Rockingham and Westminster) Reps. Michelle Bos-Lun and Leslie Goldman, along with state Sens. Wendy Harrison and Nader Hashim in the second-floor meeting room of the Rockingham Free Public Library.

This is an opportunity for community members to ask questions about issues addressed in the Legislative session. Legislators will give updates about expected legislative priorities and pending bills and take your concerns to Montpelier. Come for a conversation about current issues and bring your questions! BF Rotary hosts spaghetti dinner fundraiser

BELLOWS FALLS - The Rotary Club of Bellows Falls presents a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Bellows Falls Moose Family Center at 59 Westminster St. with two seatings, at 5:30 and 7 p.m. This community event aims to support the club's ongoing charitable initiatives and projects.

Guests will enjoy a meal featuring spaghetti, salad, and a dessert, all prepared with care by Rotary Club members and volunteers. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 per child and will be available at the door and in advance at Halladay's Flowers & Gifts and from members of the Bellows Falls Rotary. All are welcome to attend. Game Day at Whitingham Library

Who is the top dog in Wilmington?

WILMINGTON - Who is Wilmington's Top Dog? Don't miss the chance to snag the 2025 Dog Tag No. 1. This raffle is open to any dog properly registered in the town of Wilmington by April 1. To enter, simply purchase a $5 raffle ticket (there's no limit per person) at the Town Clerk's Office, or include a separate payment for raffle tickets when sending in your dog's registration. Make all checks payable to Wilmington Works for the raffle tickets.

The lucky winner will receive Dog Tag No. 1 for 2025, a feature photo of your pup on the Wilmington Works website, and a full year of bragging rights for Wilmington's Top Dog. All proceeds from the raffle go directly to maintaining Wilmington's seven downtown dog waste stations, helping to keep the community clean and welcoming. Windham Philharmonic in concert at the Latchis

BRATTLEBORO - The Windham Philharmonic in collaboration with Brattleboro Winter Carnival presents a Winter Carnival Concert at the Latchis Theatre on February 17, 2025. The orchestra will perform Ravel's famous "Bolero," a large work that has been ensconced in popular culture for decades.

Favorites from last year's popular concert include "The Skater's Waltz" by Waldteufel and "Frosty the Snowman" (of course). Families are welcome. Also on the program are the second movement of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 1, "Bacchanale" by Saint-Saëns, and two Debussy pieces: "The Snow Is Dancing," from The Children's Corner, and "Des pas sur la neige (Footprints in the Snow)."

The concert is at 7 p.m. and lasts about an hour. Admission is by donation; baked goods will be available for purchase. Expect an appearance by Frosty, the Winter Carnival mascot.

Food drop in Putney

PUTNEY - The Vermont Foodbank and the Putney Foodshelf co-sponsor a monthly food drop of free produce and some nonperishables on the fourth Thursday of every month, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Alice Holway Drive (in front of Putney Meadows).

All are welcome. This is a drive-up service. Bags provided. The next monthly food drop is Thursday, Feb. 27.
