Jotoba, Hot Day at the Zoo present a solstice bluegrass show at The Stone Church

BRATTLEBORO-On Saturday, Dec. 21, Vermont-based Jatoba and Massachusetts-based Hot Day at the Zoo will make their reappearances at The Stone Church, 210 Main St. for an all-ages winter solstice bluegrass concert. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m.

Jatoba is a groovegrass bluegrass trio that formed in 2008. The members of Jatoba perform original songs and compositions and "communicate seamlessly through spontaneous composition and improvisation, bringing an unpredictable and dynamic element to their performances," say organizers.

Hot Day at the Zoo (HDATZ) is an American roots string band, mixing folk, blues, ragtime, and jazz with progressive bluegrass and Americana-infused rock 'n' roll. HDATZ "has pioneered their sound in a way that is reminiscent of how Johnny Cash transformed traditional country music," organizers state in a news release.

On hiatus since 2013, HDATZ's return to the New England music scene "should make Zoograss fans very happy indeed."
