GUILFORD-"Song Seeds," a daylong songwriting workshop and evening concert featuring Guilford resident Luke Concannon, will take place at the Broad Brook Community Center on Saturday, Nov. 9. The workshop runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., with a concert that starts at 6:30 p.m.
Concannon says he has early memories of falling asleep to the sounds of singing fiddle and guitar at Irish family parties, and he's been sharing song in community ever since (including a No. 1 hit in the U.K. and Ireland). In Scotland, he met and fell in love with Stephanie Hollenberg, a classically trained singer-performer and a 2024 graduate of Harvard Divinity School, where she trained for chaplaincy.
They moved to Guilford in 2019 and have been releasing music (U.S./U.K. No. 12 album, Ecstatic bird in the Burning), hosting workshops with masterclasses from artists like Ed Sheeran, and touring Europe and the U.S.
Concannon and Hollenberg say they are excited to host a daylong songwriting workshop. The evening concert offers workshop participants the chance to perform, followed by an hour-long set by their hosts.
