BRATTLEBORO-Mollie S. Burke has represented District 8 for 16 years. She is a trusted and dedicated leader, working to support constituents and collaborating with policymakers. She is a good listener; she is available, and she works tirelessly to solve problems for the people of Brattleboro.
As a member of the House Transportation Committee, she has been instrumental in making our roads and communities safer and accessible to all. She has also helped create programs to reduce transportation emissions and costs for low- and moderate-income Vermonters. These include incentive programs to help people purchase new or used electric and fuel-efficient vehicles.
Mollie has also supported fare-free bus service and initiated a grant program for innovative transit. Brattleboro's new nighttime transit, made possible through her grant initiative, is a testament to her approach to solving local transit issues.
In 2023, she received a transportation policy leadership award from the Vermont Sierra Club. Mollie has also received numerous endorsements from statewide organizations, including the Vermont-NEA, Planned Parenthood Vermont Action Fund, and Let's Grow Kids. She has also been named a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate.
These honors are a recognition of her effectiveness and commitment to our community's future.
