Townshend Pumpkin Festival returns to the Common on Oct. 19

TOWNSHEND-The Pumpkin Festival is returning to the Townshend Common on Saturday, Oct. 19, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"We are thrilled to bring the community together for this year's Pumpkin Festival," Elizabeth Brown, co-chair of the Pumpkin Festival Committee, said in a news release. "It's a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to celebrate the season, enjoy fantastic local talent, and support our local businesses and artisans."

This beloved annual event promises a day of family fun, community spirit, and autumnal celebration for residents and visitors alike, according to Brown.

Visitors can show off their creative skills and personalize a pumpkin to take home in the festival's pumpkin decorating contest; browse and purchase unique crafts, seasonal goods, and delicious treats from local vendors as well as grade-level school groups; and enjoy performances by local musicians and entertainers.

There will be plenty of activities for kids, including face painting, pumpkin painting, and games. Visitors can savor a variety of food options, including traditional fall favorites like hot apple cider, doughnuts, and, of course, pumpkin pies.

Admission to the festival is free, and there will be ample parking available across the street at the high school. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to fully enjoy the day's festivities.
