Brattleboro Walking History Tour returns

BRATTLEBORO-Brattleboro Sunrise Rotary continues their walking history tour of Brattleboro this fall, offering participants a journey through time while supporting a worthy cause. This fundraiser will take place on Saturdays, Sept. 14 and 28, and Oct. 26, at 11 a.m.

Led by knowledgeable local Rotarian guides, attendees will spend 90 minutes walking up Main Street, delving into its fascinating history from its early beginnings to its present-day charm.

"Whether you're just visiting or have lived here your whole life, we're pretty sure you'll have a fun time, enjoy a nice walk, and learn some interesting new things about Brattleboro," said local guide Jonathan Secrest in a news release.

With about 10 stops at key historical landmarks, participants will discover the tales of Brattleboro's evolution. While older kids are welcome, this tour is designed for adults.

"This walking tour provides a wonderful opportunity for both residents and visitors alike to connect with the rich history of Brattleboro," said Sandy Shriver, one of the Brattleboro Sunrise Rotary guides. "Not only will participants gain a deeper understanding of our town's past, but they'll also be supporting the important work of Brattleboro Sunrise Rotary in our community."

All proceeds from the walking history tour will directly benefit the Sunrise Rotary's initiatives, which include supporting student scholarships, local projects and organizations dedicated to community development, education, and humanitarian efforts.
