BRATTLEBORO-Juventas New Music Ensemble presents "Studio to Stage" on Friday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Brattleboro Music Center.
Juventas New Music Ensemble is a contemporary chamber group with a focus on emerging voices. Ensemble members say they "reimagine classical music as a vibrant living art form, uplifting rising voices and bringing audiences music from a diverse array of composers that live in today's world and respond to our time."
The group's work has been recognized with multiple American Prize wins and support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Massachusetts Cultural Council, New Music USA and Boston Foundation. Juventas has been featured on more than a dozen recording projects, including albums from Albany Records, Navona, New Dynamic, and RMN Classical.
The concert will feature Sophia Szokolay and Mina Lavcheva, violin; Lu Yu, viola; Thomas Barth, cello; Celine Ferro, clarinet; Julia Scott Carey, piano; and Nicholas Southwick, flute.
Performed works will include "Reminiscence" by Mari Kotskyy, "Parasomnia" by Jonathan Sheffer, "Cylindrical Whiskers" by Libby Meyer, "Love Letters" by Oliver Caplan, and "Consider" by Erich Stem.
