Work underway on Western Avenue sidewalk project
BRATTLEBORO - DMI Excavation, a contractor hired by the town, has begun replacing the southern section of sidewalk on Western Avenue between Edward Heights and Greenleaf Street. This project is expected to take several weeks.

Candidates at the Coffeehouse series begins
BELLOWS FALLS - Join local legislators and statewide candidates at the Flat Iron Cooperative, 51 The Square, for Candidates at the Coffeehouse. The series will be held every third Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. through October.
Local legislators in attendance this election season will include Reps. Michelle Bos-Lun and Leslie Goldman, Sens. Nader Hashim and Wendy Harrison, and statewide elected officials Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas and State Treasurer Mike Pieciak.
"Some of the seven co-op principles focus on: education, democracy, and concern for community," said Larisa Demos, co-owner of the Flat Iron, in a news release. "We are excited to host the Candidates at the Coffeehouse series to help educate our community about democracy and encourage engagement with local and state officials in conversation."
Flat Iron Co-op was awarded "Evergreen Status" from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) in 2022 for its participation in civic engagement and their Co-ops Vote initiative.
"We look forward to continuing this conversation with the current election year," Demos said.
