BRATTLEBORO-Early and absentee ballots for the Aug. 13 State Primary Election are available by request. Absentee ballots for this election must be requested.
Anyone wishing to vote early and in-person may do so at the Brattleboro Town Clerk's Office. This option is available through Monday, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m.
Anyone wishing to vote absentee may apply for an absentee ballot until Aug. 12, at 5 p.m., although it is recommended doing so as soon as possible to account for mail delivery time. All voted ballots must be received by the Clerk before the polls close on Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 13, by 7 p.m., to be counted.
For more information or to request an absentee ballot, call the Town Clerk's office at 802-251-8157 or visit mvp.vermont.gov.
Absentee ballots can be mailed to the voter or picked up from the Town Clerk's office by the voter. Only the voter may pick up their ballot. If a voter is ill or needs assistance to fill out the ballot, two Justices of the Peace can deliver ballots outside of the voter's location.
Ballots can be returned by mail, dropped off in advance of the election in the drop box in the Municipal Center parking lot, or returned to the polls on Election Day. When returning voted ballots, voters should pay careful attention to the instructions included with their ballots.
