BRATTLEBORO-The Vermont Historical Society (VHS) has received federal funding to conduct oral histories documenting the experience of COVID-19 in the state of Vermont. One of their project field interviewers will be in Brattleboro and able to meet with people on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In a news release, VHS organizers say they "would like to interview people across Vermont about their experiences over the past several years. Our core guiding question will be 'what was the experience of COVID-19 like for you?' All experiences are valid and sought. If you have something to share, we would like to hear it."
The interviews will be transcribed and made part of a public database hosted at the Vermont Historical Society, available for future researchers. The records will become part of their larger archive documenting Vermonters' experiences with the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2025, VHS says it will also work with the interview database to publish an oral history and an accompanying podcast of COVID-19 in Vermont.
