The Actors Theatre Playhouse in West Chesterfield, N.H., announces open auditions for its 2022 Ten Minute Play Festival. Audition will take place at the Brooks Memorial Library Community Room on Main Street in Brattleboro on Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Tuesday, April 26, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Festival will run for nine performances on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, July 14 through 31.
At the audition, you will be asked to read from the 10-minute plays that interest you. Directors may ask you to read for other plays as well. You may audition for as many plays as you like, and you may be cast in more than one play.
Producer Jim Bombicino said festival-winning plays were selected from national submissions of more than 900 10-minute plays. Copies are available as PDFs for your perusal by emailing [email protected].
The directors will schedule rehearsals for their respective plays. Rehearsals for the 10-minute plays will most likely begin with a read-through in May and rehearsals in June. You should plan to be available on call to rehearse during the final three weeks before opening. Tech week is July 9-14.
Since the inception of the Actors Theatre Ten Minute Play Festival 12 years ago, ATP says they're proud to have created many acting and directing opportunities for seasoned actors and newcomers alike. They say actor participation and enthusiasm “are key to the success of the program and we strive to cast actors of various experiences, ages, and types.”
