BRATTLEBORO — New England Youth Theatre proudly presents its 2021 Holiday Musical, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and book by Linda Woolverton.
This production is directed by NEYT Executive Director Hallie Flower, with choreography by Malia'Kekia Nicolini and music direction by Bob Thies.
In a news release, Flower, describing the play as “such a lush production,” said that students “have really embraced the telling of this timeless tale.”
As always at NEYT, students play integral roles in all aspects of the production - not just on stage, but backstage as well, from stage managing to lighting, set, and prop design. Even the pit band is comprised of student musicians.
Disney's Beauty and the Beast performs at NEYT, 100 Flat St., from Thursday to Sunday over two weeks - Dec. 9 to 12 and 16 to 19 - on Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets for these performances are $11 for students, $15 for adults, and $13 for seniors. Tickets can be purchased at neyt.org.
