BRATTLEBORO — Oscar Heller is a young technology professional - he formerly worked at Mondo Mediaworks, then founded his own web design firm, 10F Design.
In the past year, Oscar has served as a Town Meeting member for District 3, and also currently serves on the Representative Town Meeting Finance Committee.
For those who attended or watched the Town Meeting last year, you'll remember Oscar from his comments regarding the sales tax issue. It was obvious that he had done his research, that he was knowledgeable about both sides of the argument, and that he demonstrated his passion for doing what is right for the town.
At that time, he brought up some numbers and perspectives that hadn't been raised before. His were the only comments of the day that earned a round of applause, I believe.
When our building went up for sale this past year, I was worried about what we would get with a new landlord. Thankfully, Oscar, who already lived here, bought the building. Consistent with his environmental concern, the first thing he did was get us recycling and compost bins and look into reducing garbage pickup by offset.
As he is a business owner, landlord, tech professional, environmental activist, and good neighbor, I strongly endorse Oscar Heller for Selectboard. He is exactly the type of person we need involved in our town government.
