GrooveBarbers bring a cappella to Next Stage

PUTNEY — Next Stage Arts Project is delighted to welcome back to Putney international a cappella sensation The GrooveBarbers for their annual holiday extravaganza, on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7.50 for children under 12 years old, and free for kids under 6 (limit of one free kid per adult ticket).

Featuring guest star and international opera diva Inna Dukach, who made her Metropolitan Opera debut in the lead role of Madama Butterfly, The GrooveBarbers feature a heart-warming mellifluous vocal blend, close harmonies, and warm arrangements of holiday classics.

This show is family-friendly. There will be popcorn and other refreshments in the lobby.

The Village Voice calls The GrooveBarbers “a cappella rock and soul royalty.” Each member of this all-vocal powerhouse quartet is a bona fide star in their own right: Sean Altman, Charlie Evett, and Steve Keyes are former members of the pioneering modern a cappella group Rockapella of “Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?” TV fame, and Kevin Weist is a renowned vocalist.

Their repertoire includes rock, doo-wop, jazz, barbershop and - with the addition of Dukach - a new hybrid genre they call “doowopera.”

Next Stage is located at 15 Kimball Hill. To learn more, visit www.nextstagearts.org.
