Hello and good day to you, residents of lovely Windham County, Vermont! I hope things are well with you.
The first half of the upcoming seven-day period is going to feature a cooler and, at times, raw easterly flow thanks to a stalling ocean storm well south of Rhode Island and east of the DelMarVa Peninsula.
We'll see showers at times starting Wednesday night through at least Friday with wind gusts 20 to 30 mph at times and mostly cloudy skies.
Saturday is our transition as a frontal system works in from the west, which will kick our ocean storm further out to sea, allowing drier and sunnier conditions to develop in southern Vermont Sunday into Monday before more showers are possible into Tuesday.

For Wednesday, after some early morning patchy fog we should see a partly sunny day on average with light easterly flow and highs in the mid 50s.
Clouds will likely develop later in the day as our ocean low bobs north-northeast well south of the southern New England coastline. Lows Wednesday night will drop into the upper 30s to low 40s with a few showers possible.
For Thursday, a stronger easterly flow off the Atlantic Ocean will likely lock in a cloudy day for southern Vermont. Expect scattered showers at times, with no falling rain at others. Highs will only reach the low to mid 50s.
A fairly raw day is expected, and easterly gusts could blow more than 20 to 25 mph at times. Scattered showers are possible Thursday night, as our storm continues to send moisture from east to west into southern Vermont. Lows are expected to be in the low 40s.
For Friday, more isolated to scattered showers, easterly flow and cool temperatures can be expected with highs in the low to mid 50s under mostly cloudy skies. It's possible western portions of Windham County could see a few breaks of sunshine. Lows should rest in the low to mid 40s.
Please note that the potential does exist for more substantial rainfall for the Wednesday night into early Saturday period, but as of this writing, plenty of uncertainty exists with the storm track and speed.
Saturday is our transition day. While a few scattered showers are possible, temps will creep up into the mid to upper 50s for highs and an incoming frontal boundary will kick our coastal storm out to sea. Lows will be in the 40s.
Sunday and Monday should feature more sunshine with highs in the mid 50s to low 60s and lows near 40 degrees before more showers arrive on Tuesday. Have a great week!
