Hello and good day to you, residents of lovely Windham County, Vermont! I hope things are well with you.
Thankfully for us, Hurricane Dorian exited stage right, but not before destroying parts of the northern Bahamas, and causing a lot of damage in the Carolinas as well as Nova Scotia before being carried away far to our northeast.
As far as our local weather, I'm not seeing many rain chances over the next week. Wednesday looks humid and showery, and Saturday looks similar, but aside from those two muggy and showery bursts, we're looking pretty calm in the weather department.
While we can expect seasonable temperatures outside of those two days, warmer weather appears to be on the way for late next week thanks to a Bermuda high pressure system that will try to establish itself off the East Coast.
This would surely allow some more heat and humidity to enter southern Vermont during the second half of this month, giving us a warm end to the Summer of 2019.
With our weekly weather picture painted, let's jump into the daily details!
For Wednesday, warmer air will be advecting into the region after a warm front passes through. This will bring an increase of warmth and humidity, with high temperatures reaching the upper 70s to low 80s, and dew point temperatures in the 60s.
Isolated to scattered showers are expected, and a thunderstorm cannot be ruled out. Low temperatures will bottom out near 60 degrees.
For Thursday, an unimpressive looking cold front will pass through early with a morning shower possible. Highs will reach the upper 60s to low 70s, with partly sunny skies developing. Lows temperatures will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s.
For Friday, humidity should be much lower as high pressure presses into the region. Highs will reach the mid to upper 60s under mostly sunny skies and lows will dip into the low 50s.
On Saturday, a fairly strong storm system will be passing well north of our region. The storm's attendant cold front will drag through the region later on Saturday.
Ahead of this feature, we'll see humidity rise a bit and some scattered showers will be possible. Mostly cloudy skies are expected as of this writing, and highs will be in the low 70s, with lows in the low to mid 50s.
Sunday will be the pick of the weekend with mostly sunny skies, lower humidity, and highs in the low to mid 70s with lows in the mid 50s.
Early next week could see a few showers, but it looks fair overall with highs in the 70s. Have a great week!
