SAXTONS RIVER — Main Street Arts is holding auditions for its winter production, Shrek the Musical, on Sept. 6, 7, and 8.
Auditions will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6; 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7; and 3 to 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 8, with call backs that day from 3:30 to 6 p.m.
The eight performances will take place March 26 through April 4, 2020, at the Bellows Falls Opera House. Rehearsals begin Jan. 1.
“This show has a very positive message and is loads of fun to do with lots of parts and a huge ensemble, so we hope that many of our veterans and many new faces will consider auditioning for it,” Director David Stern said in a news release.
Those auditioning should come to the audition at minimum one of the first two days with 18-32 bars of music prepared, either from Shrek or any other Broadway genre song, and bring sheet music for the accompanist. They should dress for dancing or movement and may be asked to read text.
