Hello and good day to you, Windham County folks! I hope things are well with you. We've got a few meteorological changes underway over the next seven days, but they should be accompanied by any extremes in temperature or humidity.
After a pleasant enough day on Wednesday, we'll see a disturbance move through on Thursday into Friday with some scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. The weekend looks fair, with increasing temperatures each day.
Humidity builds in by Sunday, and by late Sunday night into Monday scattered showers and thunderstorms will again be expected, with strong to severe storms possible as a drier air mass waits to rush in behind the incoming cold front.
Having painted our weekly weather picture, let's look at the daily details!
For Wednesday, drier air will be working into the region on a light north wind. Expect highs in the low to mid 70s under partly to mostly sunny skies with lowering humidity. Lows will drop into the low to mid 50s.
For Thursday, a disturbance will be working into the region, and while partly to mostly sunny skies are expected during the first half of the day, we should see clouds build as the day wears on, which should precede scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Highs will again reach the low to mid 70s with lows in the mid 50s.
For Friday, some more afternoon isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible, with high and low temperatures similar to Thursday's.
Our weekend is looking super sweet, with high temperatures in the 75-80 degree range under mostly sunny skies with lows near 60 degrees. Humidity will be increasing on Sunday into Monday.
By Monday, low pressure in southeast Canada should be dragging a cold front towards southern Vermont. This will allow temperatures to peak in the upper 70s to low to mid 80s with dewpoint temps well into the 60s, so expect a muggy day. In addition, scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible as the front approaches.
Drier and cooler weather is expected for Tuesday. Have a great week!
