Prevention coalitions update Substance Abuse Resource Guide

BELLOWS FALLS — The Windham County Prevention Partnership, in collaboration with the Windham County Consortium on Substance Use, has updated their Substance Abuse Resource Guide.

The free guide provides information on substance prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery resources available within Windham County.

The document includes contact information for crisis services, outpatient programs, residential and halfway housing, overdose prevention and Narcan distribution organizations, prescription disposal sites, along with healthcare support and private substance abuse counseling services.

For parents and caregivers of youth, there are resources for each school point person in the county and the prevention coalition in their region. Each coalition has youth leadership programs and additional resources for teens and caregivers.

The guide was originally created in 2017 by the Windham County Prevention Partnership, which includes Brattleboro Area Prevention Coalition, Deerfield Valley Community Partnership, Greater Falls Connections, and West River Valley Thrives.

More than 1,000 hard copies of the updated guide have already been given out to residents throughout the county by social services, medical providers, school staff, law enforcement, libraries, and treatment and recovery centers.

It is also available to download on the WindhamRx website under the resources tab, which can be found at www.windhamrx.org.
