Hello and good day to you, southeastern Vermonters! We just experienced a lovely stratiform rain storm which brought more than 2 inches of rainfall to Windham County.
While there were some heavier downpours, this rain was laid down in steady fashion. Given the overall abundant sunshine we have on the way for southeastern Vermont, farmers and gardeners should see a noticeable boost in crop growth and overall plant happiness.
We should remain largely dry from Wednesday through Sunday, with a chance for afternoon showers and storms each day early next week as humidity increases and temperatures push into the upper 80s, toward 90 degrees. May your farms and gardens produce a bounty this year!
Given that weekly outlook, let's look at the daily details!
For Wednesday, we should see some clouds in the morning as the last of our rainy remnants well southeast produces some sky cover to its northwest as it pulls away. However, the day will be turning partly to mostly sunny with highs in the low 70s to upper 70s from high elevation to low.
Low temperatures should drop into the mid 50s as drier air continues to advect into the region, producing super sweet sleeping weather!
Thursday and Thursday night will pretty much be a copy of Wednesday with highs in the 70s again, and lows in the 50s under mostly sunny and mostly clear skies.
Friday and Saturday will be copies of each other. However, we'll step up the temperatures, with highs reaching the low to mid 80s, except some upper 70s in the high terrain, all under mostly sunny skies. Lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s each night.
The humidity will start to increase as well, as high pressure sets up south of us, fostering a flow out of the southwest.
By Sunday into early next week, it will become quite humid with dew point temperatures well into the 60s, and high temperatures reaching the mid to upper 80s.
Once we reach early next week, summery weather will be fully re-established over the southeastern Vermont region. Highs in the mid to upper 80s, high (but not oppressive) humidity, and the potential for scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms will all characterize much of next week's weather.
