GUILFORD — Voters in Guilford, Brattleboro, Putney, and Dummerston will vote in a special election on Tuesday, May 21 for directors on the new Windham Southeast School District board. Each town will have two representatives.
You'll discover on the ballot that one of the positions has no candidate listed. It's the two-year slot for Guilford.
I'm pleased that Kelly Young has indicated that she will accept the position as a write-in candidate.
In this election, all the positions are voted upon by all the towns, so I am suggesting that all voters consider this write-in candidate.
Kelly Young is highly qualified to serve in this position. She has had the experience of being a parent of students in this district, serves on the Guilford Town School Board, and is one of Guilford's two representatives to the Windham Southeast School District Transitional Board.
Both of those boards will be replaced by the new, unified board on July 1, making Kelly Young particularly qualified to move into the new position.
You may also vote before May 21 by visiting your Town Office and filling out a ballot in advance.
