BELLOWS FALLS — The Bellows Falls Historical Society will host a Labyrinth Walk on World Labyrinth Day, Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m.
The walk will happen at the Labyrinth and Poet's Seat located in the Riverfront Park by the Adam's Grist Mill Museum on Mill Street off the Square. This place of contemplation and reflection, surrounded by granite seating, is situated at a peaceful highpoint that overlooks the Connecticut River and valley vistas.
Thousands of people around the world will participate in walks. Local Labyrinth Society Regional Representative Sadelle Wiltshire will lead the walk.
Bellows Falls will join more than 5,000 walkers worldwide who are “walking at 1 as one” in their own time zones. The hosted walk will happen between 12:30 and 2 p.m., with intros at 12:30 p.m. and the Labyrinth walk starting at 1 p.m. to coincide with other walkers along the East Coast.
People are invited to bring a favorite short poem of peace with them to share before the walk begins or after their walk is finished in honor of the “Poet's Seat.”
Wiltshire will give a short intro to walking the labyrinth and useful things to consider while walking. Participants are welcome to bring a journal with them and to stay after the walk if they would like to share what came up for them during the walk. She also says a labyrinth is not a maze, so you can't get lost.
