Good day to you, fine folks of southeastern Vermont! Have you had enough wet weather? No? I know, me either. Lucky for us, more rain is on the way!
I'm being sarcastic, of course, as this writer is ready for some long-duration periods of sunshine. I wish I had better news for the week ahead, but it does appear that additional rainy periods are on the way as this pattern is stuck for the moment.
At least some milder temperatures look possible for this coming weekend into early next week, but each day carries the potential of at least a few scattered showers, if not heavier rainfall. After that murky weekly weather portrait, let's jump into the daily details!
For Wednesday, we could start with a few sunny breaks, or periods of sun, but clouds will be building during the day, and a few showers will be possible during the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the low to mid 50s. Showers will build at night and could fall heavily at times. A rumble of thunder is also possible. Lows will dip into the low 40s with up to a half inch or so of rain.
For Thursday, scattered showers will last through the morning, with cloudy skies thereafter as our system departs to the east. Highs will reach the low 50s with a light east wind.
Thursday night, clouds thicken and lower with more showers by midnight as a new system moves into the region. Lows will be in the low to mid 40s.
For Friday, more rain is forecast as a storm system pushes out of the Great Lakes and east through southern Vermont. Highs will reach the low to mid 50s, and scattered showers are possible Friday night before quitting late. Lows will drop into the upper 40s.
At the moment, the weekend looks partly sunny on average, with some scattered showers possible at different points in time. Much uncertainty remains as of this writing. However, it does look like temperatures will warm above 60 degrees, with highs in the mid 60s both days, possibly warmer.
More periods of sunshine and showers are expected for early next week with continued mild high temperatures in the 60s. Have a great week!
