Good day to you, fine folks of southeastern Vermont! As high pressure tracks east of our region for the second half of the week, we will be placed into a warming, southerly flow.
Aside from some scattered showers Thursday night into Friday morning, we will enjoy fair and increasingly mild weather conditions through Saturday, by which time we could crest 60 degrees in some towns!
Sunday looks showery as a cold front works through the region, with cooler, seasonable and fair weather for early next week.
All in all, we're firmly moving away from winter and into spring, so let's jump into the details!
For Wednesday, after a cold start in the teens, high pressure will crest overhead and track to our east, allowing us to warm up into the low to mid 40s under sunny skies. Lows Wednesday night will dip into the low 20s under mostly clear skies and calm conditions.
For Thursday, a southerly flow becomes established over southern Vermont. The western envelope of higher pressure will foster sunny skies and highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Clouds will increase during the evening, with lows bottoming out in the mid to upper 30s.
Some scattered rain showers are expected late Thursday night into Friday morning, as a cold front washes out and stalls over our neck of the woods. Friday looks to be a partly sunny day with highs in the low 50s with lows in the 30s.
A few more scattered showers are possible Saturday morning as this front reforms into a warm front and lifts north toward northern New England. Skies look to be mostly cloudy on Saturday with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s - a true taste of Spring!
By Sunday, low pressure will pass to our north, and press this frontal boundary south through southern Vermont once again as a cold front, bringing more widespread showers to our region.
Highs will reach to either side of 50 degrees, with lows in the mid 20s. Any remaining rain showers may mix with or change to snow showers before quitting late Sunday night.
Early next week looks to be fair, but colder, with highs only in the low to mid 40s and lows in the 20s. Have a great week!
