Gail Wade Trio comes to Wardsboro Town Hall

WARDSBORO — The Gail Wade Trio will perform Saturday, Sept. 29, as part of Wardsboro Curtain Call's 2018 Music Series.

Drawing from the deep roots of folk, bluegrass, and classic country music, The Gail Wade Trio presents an eclectic blend of both traditional and original acoustic music.

A strong guitarist and songwriter with a rich, soulful voice, Wade has been performing both solo and with her own band in the U.S. and abroad for the past 30 years, according to a news release. Her early folk influences bring “a warmth and depth to her songwriting, engulfing the listener in the deep emotion of everyday life experiences,” the release says.

Acoustic bass player Joe DeLillo's stunning tenor vocals are a high, lonesome sound familiar to followers of the New England Bluegrass scene. Whether singing lead or harmony vocals, DeLillo's emotive delivery and driving bass playing are an integral part of the trio's sound.

A gifted multi-instrumentalist, Tim St. Jean rounds out the Trio with mandolin, banjo, and vocals. A much sought after musician and songwriter, St. Jean is a familiar face on the stages of New England's premier music festivals.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and music begins at 7 p.m. at the Wardsboro Town Hall Café on Main Street. Admission is $10 at the door. WCC's proceeds from 50/50 raffle, sales of WCC merchandise, and donations to the “Refreshment Jar” benefit Wardsboro Fire and Rescue.

The final show of the 2018 series is Saturday, Oct. 20, when Dan Frechette and Laurel Thomsen will perform.
