BROOKLINE — This is a thank you for all the help and support after the fire on Dec. 17, 2017 which took the lives of our daughter/sister/aunt, Elizabeth Cutts, and our husband/father/grandfather, Bruce Cutts.
I never intended to take so long getting to this but I would very much like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their generous support during this very difficult time. Though we are burdened with sadness and grief, your many kindnesses have upheld us in so many ways.
Perhaps you put money in the fund, sent a card, made a dish, organized a fundraiser, paid a visit, or prayed with us and for us. No matter what or how, we appreciate it all.
It is hard to express the depth of the blessing that all of these gestures, by so many, have been for us. We have tried to write notes acknowledging everyone, and hope that we've not missed anyone, but please consider yourself thanked wholeheartedly.
We are especially grateful to NewBrook Fire and Rescue Chief Todd Lawley for setting up and monitoring the fund. We are also aware that Bernadine is his right hand and are most thankful for her help. Bruce so much enjoyed working for them.
I also wanted to mention how grateful I am for my daughters-in-law. They gave me unwavering support, shopped for me, never failed to ask if there was anything I needed, supported their husbands, and helped their tenderhearted children to deal with some very hard stuff.
I did not mention them directly at the memorial service, but they were very much there between the lines, the music, the flowers, the clothes, the support, and more. However these three women should never be relegated to “between the lines.” I thank God for each one of you, Beth, Alisia, and Anna.
Thank you, and thank you again.
