Wildlife photos on display at Crowell Gallery

NEWFANE — “Around the Pond” a photographic exhibit by David Parker, will be shown at the Crowell Gallery at the Moore Free Library, 23 West St., during the month of February.

A reception with the artist takes place Saturday, Feb. 3, from 1 to 3 p.m., according to a news release.

For naturalists, birders, and those who enjoy the outdoors, this show will delight and inform. Parker's experience as an educator is evident in the narrative of each image.

In more than 50 images, some as large as 20 x 30 inches, local creatures display their color, habitat, and personality. Visitors will see fuzzy water-fowl chicks mature to full mating dress; chatty wrens and itinerant warblers; carnivorous hawks and the shy, elusive bittern.

Also present in this acre of water are river otter, mink, and the masterful beaver, without whom this pond life wouldn't exist.
