BRATTLEBORO — The organizing committee of Brattleboro's 45th annual Community Thanksgiving is seeking volunteers for a wide range of tasks including baking, food prep, serving, meal delivery, and more.
This year's Community Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 23, at St. Michael's School on Walnut Street. Shifts are available starting Tuesday, Nov. 21, through Thanksgiving Day.
Volunteers are needed to make desserts, prepare vegetables, help in the kitchen, serve food or drinks, wash dishes, deliver meals, transport food, and/or help clean up. Children 12 and older may volunteer with an adult. Sign up online at www.volunteersignup.org/lpfap.
Brattleboro's annual Community Thanksgiving serves about 500 people each year. It is open to anyone in the community, and there is no charge. Food and materials are donated by local businesses and organizations, and volunteers provide the labor.
Cooking is done under the direction of Chef Andrzej Mikijaniec, owner of the food truck Andrzej's Polish Kitchen.
Those who would like to request a meal delivered to their home on Thanksgiving Day should call Peter Wiles at 802-254-4687.
