Good day to you southern Vermonters! Aside from a fairly warm weekend on the way, this week's weather won't be all that remarkable.
In general, we'll see a weak storm move through Wednesday with some light rains into the night, followed by high pressure bringing sunny and cool conditions through late week.
This high pressure system will move east and (in concert with a low pressure system off to our northwest) will produce a southerly flow that warms us up this weekend. Showers will then be possible late weekend into early next week thanks to a frontal passage. To the details!
For Wednesday, we may start off partly sunny in the morning, but we should see increasing clouds as the day wears on, as low pressure moves east towards the Mid-Atlantic region.
Light rain showers will be possible during the afternoon and overnight period. Highs will be in the low 60s with lows in the low 40s, with some upper 30s possible in the hills.
For Thursday, high pressure will move in from the west and provide a couple of seasonable and gorgeous days, with plenty of sunshine. Humidity will be low as well. We can expect highs into the upper 50s both days, with lows in the low 40s Thursday night and in the upper 40s Friday night.
Thereafter, high pressure will move east of our region, and allow for a southerly flow to bring in warmer and more humid air for this weekend. Saturday will certainly be the pick of the weekend, with partly sunny skies and highs in the low 70s, and lows in the mid 50s.
A cold front will be approaching the region by Sunday, so clouds will be on the increase during the day. The front looks like a slow-mover at this point, and so scattered showers will be possible Sunday afternoon into the first half of Monday.
Highs on Sunday will be in the low 70s, but only in the upper 50s by Monday as the front moves through. Tuesday should be cool and sunny. Have a great week!
