BRATTLEBORO — The Vermont Department of Financial Regulation recently approved an expanded field of membership for Members 1st Credit Union to include surrounding counties of the Brattleboro area.
The expansion will allow Members 1st to serve the financial needs of anyone who lives or works in the counties of Windsor, Rutland, Bennington and Windham in Vermont; Sullivan and Cheshire counties in New Hampshire, and Franklin County in Massachusetts.
“Members 1st is ready, willing and able. We want to grow and we're here for you,” Betty Chamberlin, Chair of the Board of Directors, said in a news release.
“We are excited about the opportunity to serve the residents within the expanded service area and are looking forward to introducing our financial services,” said Members 1st CEO Evelyn Sirois.
Members 1st Credit Union has served the Brattleboro area since 1957, when the credit union was chartered to serve employees of Brattleboro Industries, which later became The Book Press. Today, the credit union has more than 2,000 members and $15.5 million in assets.
